A study of one of the group of eight scuptures around the Parterre D’eau at the Chateau de versailles.

The sculptor Pierre Granier (1635-1715) was commissioned in 1685 and completed the project 1690.

The casting was done by Aubry,Bonvalet , Schabo and Taubin.

At various times over the years these statues and been removed from Versailles and subsequently re instated.
