Living in France from a young age he was influenced in his early years by Louis Thomas Francia and Eugene Delacroix. He studied in Paris before taking a studio . His early watercolours were typical of their period ,yet within a short time they progressed to be the height of quality of the Romantic period. Painted with delicate strokes , capturing the shapes , light and details they are masterpieces of their time.
