Pencil on paper, 12 ins x 8 ins (30cms x 20cms)
Inscribed on reverse by Cordelia Dobson , the artist’s wife.
This drawing is from the early part of Dobson’s career, before he moved to producing sculptures.
This work clearly shows the influence, of futurism, vorticism and cubism.
After WW1 Dobson moved towards sculpture more and more in a realist style, he produced busts and sculptures and became
one of our leading sculptors alongside Henry Moore and Jacob Epstein.
